A doll

The doll I made about 5 years ago. Just wanted to try... If you wonder why that over sized bag, that's totally me :-)

May be one day she will move into a more decent residence, but for now...

Macrame purse

It was supposed to be my first post...

This purse was a birthday present from my sister Elena (who made it). We were both in our early twenties at that time. It was one of the few things I brought from Russia when immigrated to Canada.

Chandelier

I am redecorating my bedroom and hope to change its look dramatically.

My sister Elena gave me this basic chandelier.

Luckily, I got a fantastic deal and bought beads for entire chandelier for less than $ 15. I spray painted the base in silver.

I cut daisy like flowers out of plastic containers. It was an attempt to recycle some household stuff. In order to give the daisy three dimensional look I 'boiled' them in a utensil with mesh wire.

Here is the chandelier on my easel - work in progress.

Pink chair. Part 3.

It took me a few weekends to finish the project. I am not 100% happy with the result, but I forgive myself because there was no previous experience.

It was actually interesting to see traces of previous "lives" of the chair when it was burgundy at some point, and acid green later. The dark green you see in the picture is actually the chair's third "life".

It has never been pink with white frame!
(Some day I will write about this choice in detail)

At night when the lights are on, the chair and silk window drapes have a nice sheer that "excites" the place.

Pink chair. Part 2

I never done this before and was quite nervous. The fabric for the chair I bought from Designers Guild collection and it was shipped from UK. Needless to say that it was not cheap. So it was important to do everything right.

I got real appreciation of YouTube in this project. I found great videos from professionals and learned how to reupholster a chair. It was not hard actually. Just time consuming. That's all :-)

Pink chair. Part 1

Last Christmas I got a very unusual present from my sister: a chair.

The true meaning behind that was an idea to transform it into something beautiful and personal. The challenge opened a door to the whole new era in my life...

I looked for inspiration spending nights browsing endless number of websites, turning pages of magazines...I finally stopped on Designers Guild interiors. This room was my inspiration:

Bedroom accent wall

I decided to change my bedroom colors and style. The wall was a starting point. I wanted to have a wall paper, but could not find the right color and design. What do you do in that case? You fake it!

My inspiration came from a cosmetic bag I bought on Etsy. It was made from Michael Miller's Damask fabric.

I made a stencil template and simply rolled paint over it on the wall.

And this a finished look...

and this is how it looked before ...
Reminds me my college years :-)
